THE CLIENT

London-based singer-songwriter Robin Garcia is fast making a name for himself with his heartfelt lyrics and infectious melodies. For his debut solo performance in October 2024, Robin approached me to design a poster that would capture his intimate, handmade approach to music while standing out in the crowded indie/folk scene.

THE PROCESS

With no usable press photos, we leaned into a graphic-led direction. Robin was keen for something tactile and organic — avoiding anything too polished or digital. In response, I built the design using hand-cut lettering, rough textures, and bold primary colours that reflected both the emotional warmth and the playful honesty of his songwriting. A sketch of my own eyes was cut and collaged to create a central visual symbol, offering an intuitive, human presence. The poster was then scanned and recoloured digitally to create an even stronger physical presence when the posters were displayed together.

The final design felt honest, vibrant, and personal—qualities that resonated with Robin and his growing audience. He was thrilled with the result and continues to use elements from the poster in his ongoing visual identity.
